Main differences
The main difference between Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting is that the former demands the use of equipment while the latter dismisses such dependence and can also be performed by a single interpreter, usually positioned next to the lecturer, translating the message in parts, always after the speaker.
On the other hand, Simultaneous Interpreting promotes the communication between speaker and audience, in a natural and continuous way, allowing all attendees to express themselves in their own native languages and to hear the translations through headsets. In the Consecutive Interpreting two individuals never speak at the same time and therefore, it usually takes double the time and does not allow a natural fluency during a presentation. This service causes the event to be longer and sometimes tiresome, for both the speaker and guests.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING
Simultaneous Interpreting is a service performed with the use of specialized equipment and usually requires a duo of interpreters, so both can take turns. It is transmitted from a sound booth directly to receivers using headsets in a genuine simultaneous manner.
The purpose of the Simultaneous Interpreting is to become an instrument that allows the lecturer to speak in its mother language and at the same time be understood by a multilingual and multicultural audience in real time. The interpreter needs to reproduce the perfect tone of the original message. Due to the need to take turns, which ensures the quality throughout the duration of the event, a minimum of two interpreters are assigned to the event, always respecting the workload of six hours.
Simultaneous Interpreting is critical in order to offer a fully communicative environment in the most diversified events such as lectures, courses, workshops, round tables, seminars, symposiums and conferences, wherever there are lecturers and audience from different nationalities.

CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING
Consecutive Interpreting is the translation service where the orator speaks for a brief time and pauses until the interpreter finishes translating what the orator said. It represents the ideal format for more informal events or events with a smaller audience, such as business meetings, business dinners, exhibitions, etc. It is worth reminding that this kind of translation takes more time than the Simultaneous Interpreting. Consecutive Interpreting also applies to debates or any project with a more interactive approach, where speeches are naturally shorter, but it is important to remind that, in some cases, it is necessary to rely on sounding devices to make sure no part of the lecture goes without translation.
This type of translation is usually handled by a single interpreter. What determines the amount of interpreters is the amount of attendees and/or interpreters the client requires to fully meet the demands of the event.
